As you may have read from our email newsletter, we had our first core team training meeting on Sunday night, January 8th. We had a great time worshipping together. Just wanted to share a few pictures from the evening…
What a great night! We worshipped through songs, prayers, scripture reading, and teaching. Pastor Drew taught on our first core value, the Family. We are really excited about the coming weeks, and about bringing the Light to Fayette County! Please continue to pray for Fayette Baptist Church!
*The beautiful pictures were taken by Clarissa Sidhom*
I’m really excited to introduce you to some of our core team members. Please remember these names and faces and commit them to prayer. Every one of these individuals is stepping out in faith with this church plant. It is not an easy thing to leave solid church homes to start a new work, but the Holy Spirit led each and every one of these people to be a part of Fayette Baptist Church, and we are so grateful and excited about that! So without further ado, let me introduce Mitch & Myra Martin.
I know it has been a really {really} long time since I have updated our blog. One of the main reasons is that it has not been the appropriate time to share all of the details that have been unfolding. However, it seems like every day God has been doing a new thing in the life of Fayette Baptist Church. It has been so exciting to see! Hopefully by the end of this month we will have an official website. Until then you will just have to deal with me and my sporadic updates
Just wanted to share a picture of our core team at our very first core team meeting…this was back in October, and our group has grown since then!
Over the next few weeks I am going to {hopefully} be introducing you via the web to a few of our core team members…this will be a great way to get involved with our church, to pray for our core and staff team! Each of our core team members is a gift straight from God. It has been exciting to see God bring together people of completely different backgrounds and age groups but with exactly the same heartbeat for the lost and for Him.
Yesterday was our last official day at First Millington. Next Sunday, January 8, we will begin meeting as a church. On Sunday mornings between January 8 and August 5 we will be visiting churches in the MidSouth area to gather ideas and information. There are quite a few church plants we will be visiting, so I’m sure we will glean a lot from these visits. On Sunday nights we will be meeting as a core team for our Pastor to teach on our seven core values and to talk about what we learned from our morning visit, what we may want to implement at FBC. This will be an invaluable time for our core team and staff. Please pray for us as we begin this exciting time. Stay tuned for more updates!
