Friends at Fayette Day

Two Sundays ago, we had a special day where our church family was invited out to our prospective property to see the plans for the future home of Fayette Baptist Church.  It was an exciting day, as we had the opportunity to see what will hopefully be taking place in the future of our church.

Pastor Drew gave an overview of what the plans for the new church building will include while  everyone ate lunch, which was provided by the church.

The architectural plans were on display for everyone to look over.

Please continue to pray for Fayette Baptist as we seek God’s will and guidance on all of our upcoming decisions and direction for our new church building.  Even more than we desire a permanent place to meet, we desire to be in God’s perfect meeting place for Fayette.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”  Pray that we continue to acknowledge Him in all of our decisions, and that He in turn will continue to direct all of our paths.

Check back soon for more updates on the church property and building!

Recent News

Over the last couple of months, we have been busy at Fayette Baptist!  On March 16th, Fayette Baptist’s Womens Ministry held Spring Fling, which was a market and dinner for the women of the community.  There were around 100 women in attendance, and they were blessed by author and international speaker Marolyn Ford.

NEWMEMBERS

We recently kicked off our choir, and it has been a blessing to see these faithful members leading our church in worship.

CHOIR

We have continued to see people come to Christ and follow Him in believer’s baptism.

BAPTISM

Last Sunday was the kickoff for Awesome April, and we were blessed by Ronnie Johnson, who came out to Fayette County from Miracle Baptist in Memphis to proclaim what great things God has done in his life.

God continues to work in and through Fayette Baptist, and we are so excited about what He is doing!  Please be in prayer for us as we look forward to the next couple of weeks.  This coming Sunday, April 14th, we are excited to have Dr. Ray Newcomb come preach to us.  We are asking God to do above and beyond what we could think or ask.

Pray that many will come to know HIM, and that all of the glory will go to HIM alone!

Spring Fling

Ladies, don’t forget that Sunday, March 10th is the last day to buy tickets for the Spring Fling women’s event.  You will NOT want to miss this exciting day!  More than 25 vendors will be in attendance, and we have a great dinner planned.  Marolyn Ford will be sharing her life’s story with you, and you will not want to miss hearing about the healing miracles that God has performed in her life!  We hope to see all of you there.

Vision Night

Proverbs 29:18  Where there is no vision, the people perish…
Sunday night, October 7th, was an exciting night , as Pastor Drew and the staff laid out the vision for the future of Fayette Baptist Church.    We started the night off with some food, fellowship, and a time of worship.

Pastor Drew then came and talked to the church about the staff’s vision for the church.  He shared plans, hopes and dreams for today, tomorrow, and the future.  It was exciting to see and hear, and many people were encouraged by the fact that the staff desires to see Fayette Baptist be a church that reaches the community in a myriad of ways.

Following up Pastor Drew’s overview of the vision, FBC’s student pastor, Jon Gambrell, showed the church what it would look like if Fayette Baptist attempted to purchase land with an existing building.

Next our administrative director, Shawn Gardner, showed the congregation what the past and present finances of Fayette Baptist Church look like.  This was such an exciting thing to see, and showed the members exactly how much God has blessed this church in just a few short months! He also showed what future finances would look like if God led FBC to pursue purchasing land and a church building.

Discipleship Pastor, Josh Mabry, concluded the night by leading us in a time of corporate prayer.

Proverbs 16:9 says,  A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.  Please pray for Fayette Baptist Church as we seek God’s guidance for the future.  Although we have hopes and dreams, we desire for God to direct all of our steps!

For further information on the vision of Fayette Baptist Church, it will be posted on the fayettebaptist.com website coming soon!

Back To School Bash 2012

“I am come a light into the darkness, that whosever believeth in me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:46
On August 29, 2012 at Fayette Baptist’s First Annual Back to School Bash, approximately 25 teenagers passed from darkness into everlasting life.  Praise the Lord!   The night was an exciting night from the very beginning of the evening.  We started out with inflatables and sno cones and hot dogs for all of the kids, and a big hit with all of the kids was the mechanical bull.

It was awesome to see how many kids came out for the Bash!

Ronnie Johnson from Miracle Baptist shared a great message of God’s love and salvation to the kids and families, and over 25 kids prayed to receive Christ as their Savior.

We praise the Lord and give God all the glory for the great things He is doing!

A Perfect Ending

On Sunday, Fayette Baptist Church celebrated our last days of meeting at Bellevue Arlington Office Complex and Cleaves Memorial CME Church.  We have been so blessed to be able to meet there for the last seven months.  This coming Sunday, the core team of Fayette Baptist will meet at West Junior High, where we will launch the church the following Sunday.
Sunday night was the perfect ending to our time at Cleaves.  We had the opportunity to ordain two very godly men into the ministry.   Josh Mabry is currently serving as our Discipleship Pastor, and Jon Gambrell is serving as our Student Minister.  It was an exciting night in the life of our church, and we were reminded how blessed we are to have so many dedicated Christ-following men in our church.

We are so appreciative that Cleaves Memorial and Bellevue Arlington has allowed us to meet in their facilities.  This has been such a huge blessing, and Fayette Baptist has changed and grown so much during this time period.  We are now so excited to open up this next phase of our ministry and see what God has in store for us!

VBS 2012 Day 5…Fun Friday

VBS 2012 was a success!  We had a week-long competition between the boys and girls to see who could raise the most money to go to missions in Fayette County.  The girls were very excited to find out that they won!

We also had a competition to see who could bring the most friends.  Two girls won the competition, and as you can see, little Emma was hoping with all of her heart to win the digital camera, and was ecstatic when she found out that it was hers!

We had sno-cones, popcorn and inflatables for the kids, and we saw several children make decisions to follow Christ.  It was an exciting week!

We want to say a huge “thank you” to Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas for bringing a mission team to help us work the VBS week.  It would have been impossible without this group.

We also want to thank Gateway Baptist Church for sending out a team to teach our Bible stories.  To those of you who worked this week, thank you so much!  It was certainly a joint effort, and we cannot say how much we appreciate everyone who was physically onsite to help out.  Also thank you to all of you who were praying for a successful week…we couldn’t have done it without you, as well!
